Baum

Let Baum trade from your wallet.

A swap has to be signed, and only the wallet’s private key can sign it — so placing trades for you means Baum holds that key. Read this before you decide.

Your private key is the wallet

A private key is not a password — it is the wallet. Anyone holding it can move everything in that wallet, from any app, with no further confirmation from you.

  • Giving it to Baum cannot really be taken back. /disconnect deletes our copy, but a key cannot be revoked — the only way to undo it is to move your funds to a wallet whose key you never gave out.
  • Baum stores it encrypted and signs only swaps you confirm in chat, and it never leaves as anything but a signature. That is our handling of it, not a guarantee about the key itself.
  • Only ever paste it into your own Telegram chat with Baum. Never send it to anyone who asks — including anyone claiming to be Baum support, because we will never ask.
  • Use a wallet you are willing to trade from, not your main store of value. Funding a fresh one for this is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

If none of that sounds worth it, you do not have to. Baum still answers questions and can tell you what it would trade without ever placing it.

How to connect

  1. Open the wallet app that holds the funds

Phantom, Solflare, MetaMask, Rabby — whichever one you already use. It needs to be the wallet you actually want Baum trading from.

  2. Find the export screen

It is usually under settings, on the wallet or account itself, and called Export private key, Show private key or Reveal secret key. Expect a password prompt and a warning screen — that warning is telling you the truth.

  3. Make sure it is the Solana key

A wallet app can hold several accounts on several chains, and they are different keys. Pick the Solana one — this is the one Baum can trade with.

  4. Do not export a seed phrase

A recovery or seed phrase is twelve or twenty-four words and covers every wallet you have ever made in that app. Baum does not take one and you should not paste one anywhere. You want the single account’s private key.

  5. Copy the key

It looks like a long string of letters and numbers with no 0x in front (some wallets show it as a list of numbers in square brackets instead — either is fine). Copy all of it, and nothing around it.

  6. Send it to Baum on Telegram

Send /wallet <paste the key> in your Telegram chat with Baum. Baum works out which chain it is, stores it encrypted, and deletes your message. Baum will not take a key over SMS — text messages cross carriers that keep them.

  7. Check the address Baum reads back

Baum replies with the wallet address it derived from the key. Compare it to the Solana address your wallet app shows. If they do not match, you exported a different account — send /disconnect and start again.

  8. Leave some gas in it

Baum pays network fees from this wallet, so it needs a little SOL sitting in it — around 0.02 SOL covers a good number of swaps. A wallet holding only tokens cannot trade, and Baum will tell you so rather than guessing.

Every wallet app words this differently — look for private key, not recovery phrase. This works on your phone; it needs no developer tools.
